Do you love caring for babies? Being an au pair for a baby can be such a rewarding experience. Together with your host family, you’ll be able to participate in many milestones during your host baby’s first year. From watching a baby learn to smile, roll over, eat solid foods to crawling and even walking, you’ll have so many special memories of your time as an au pair!
Au Pair Care developed our Infant Specialized training program especially for au pairs caring for babies. To qualify for this program, you’ll need to have considerable interest and experience caring for babies and have at least 200 documented hours of childcare experience with infants and children under two, in addition to our basic au pair requirements.
This special training program takes place at the Au Pair Academy upon your arrival to the United States. Together with other au pairs, you’ll participate in a fun and hands-on training program, designed just for au pairs caring for babies. You’ll learn the “American Way” of caring for babies and new skills and techniques that you won’t learn anywhere else, such as baby sign language and baby massage.
During the training you will learn:
Every au pair that completes the unique Infant Specialized Care training course will receive a certificate of achievement. You’ll also arrive at your host family’s home confident and prepared to provide excellent care for your host family's small children!

Au Pair Care’s proprietary Infant Specialized Training utilizes a hands-on approach to train au pairs in infant safety, the “American way” of infant care giving, infant stimulation and development. Infant Specialized au pairs are certified in infant CPR and first aid by the American Heart Association and also receive instruction in infant sign language and baby massage. This additional infant care training will help nurture your baby's healthy growth and encourage language development.
